SUPREMEeX
Koyaanisqatsi
(Arrakis/OneUp)
The Projecto: 2501 one-off was one of my favorite joints from a couple years back, and it's good to see Philadelphia producer SUPREMEeX back in the driver's seat. Gone is collaborator and Souls of Mischief's Tajai, but SUPREMEeX continues the futurism with two rather nice instrumental compositions. "640 Caravans Making Right Turns" sounds like Cornershop's "Sleep on the Left Side" and layers various rings and effects. Check instead for "Angelic Groove," a more uptempo effort that approximates Kraftwerk's "Numbers" and slaps on some nice synth work. - MW
